A Salute To Women In The Military
As the proud daughter of a U.S. Army Veteran, and a former DoD employee, I feel privileged to provide this collection of songs to women currently serving in the Armed Forces and to all women Veterans. Their courage, tenacity, and willingness to go where so many fear to tread is inspiring. My sincerest hope is that I have represented their stories, with honesty and respect.
The Story Behind Red, White, And Bruised
In 2022, I met a Vietnam Veteran who had a dream of recording an album dedicated to women in the service. Although I did not initiate the idea, I was immediately captivated by the goal of honoring women who served or are serving in the United States military. I started researching the history and impact of women in the military and wrote songs intended to be a musical homage to the beauty, pain, and sacrifice of their military service. In late 2023, the spirit behind this project, Lt. Bobby Ross, passed away. After several months of grieving the loss of Bobby, I decided to finish what he had envisioned and on July 4, 2024 released: “Red, White, and Bruised - A Salute To Women in the Military”
